Academy Gallery Private Visit

The guided tour of the Accademia Gallery begins in the section devoted to the Medici family’s extraordinary collection of musical instruments, where you can see the world’s most expensive Stradivarius, the oldest known piano, and other unique instruments.

Accompanied by a certified guide, we walk through the De Fabris Tribune to the foot of Michelangelo Buonarroti’s famous David, carved in just three years from a single block of Carrara marble over six meters high. Along the way you will discover anecdotes, curiosities, and secrets related to the six Michelangelo sculptures preserved in the museum: the David, the Four Prisons, and the St. Matthew.

At the end of the guided tour, the ticket allows you to stay inside the museum until closing time to explore the Academy’s other masterpieces on your own, including Lorenzo Bartolini’s plaster casts in the Gipsoteca, the gold-backed altarpieces on the upper floor, and important Renaissance paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries.
