Brunelleschi’s Dome

Wearing the VR viewer, you are immediately transported to 1420s Florence, to the heart of the Renaissance’s boldest construction site: the building of the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore. In just ten minutes, the experience recounts the birth of this masterpiece through an immersive journey among suspended scaffolding, wooden cranes, and the buzz of the Renaissance city.

The narrative accompanies visitors more than a hundred meters above the ground, giving voice to Filippo Brunelleschi and his intellectual clashes with Lorenzo Ghiberti, as the dome takes shape block by block. You can also admire Giorgio Vasari’s Last Judgment frescoes in extraordinary 4K resolution, without having to climb the 464 steps of the royal dome.

The experience takes place comfortably seated, just a few steps from the Duomo, in the Local Based Experience space on Via degli Alfani, and is an immersive narrative that combines historical rigor and theatrical power, to experience the pulse of the Renaissance without moving a single step.
